Module 1: Embark on the Qi Life Path of Slowing Down to Reduce Stress, Balance Your Emotions & Create More Meaningful Life Moments (January 7)
Our modern life doesn’t promote a high vibratory way of living. We are busy, rushed, stressed, anxious, in pain, and basically wired and tired as individuals — and as a culture.
When our minds perceive urgency, our bodies move into fight or flight. In this module you’ll explore the slow remedy, and learn how to become mindful as we feel into where we are in time and space.
You’ll also explore how the slow concept appears through spiritual communities and cultures throughout time…
… and why it’s so beneficial for stress management, health, and connecting to loved ones — and for a deep and meaningful connection to life.
Lee will share a concept called Bliss Over Busy as a way of living fully each and every day — and guide you in a slow Qigong movement meditation as a way to set intention for the day and the course.
This week, you’ll learn how to:
- Create more elevated moments of heightened energy each and every day
- Use the concept of slowing down to clear stress and balance your emotions and hormones
- Integrate slow principles into everyday life
- Slow down the thinking mind and open up to universal guidance
Module 2: Slow Down the Chaotic Mind to Ease Agitation, Worry & Restlessness and Activate Deeper Presence, Clarity & Creative Problem-Solving (January 14)
In Chinese culture, the mind was alluded to as the “monkey mind,” swinging from proverbial branch-to-branch.
This week, Lee will share how the monkey mind is the mind of agitation sacrificing present moment contentment for endless future worries.
You’ll explore why the mind tends to behave this way — turbulent and rambunctious — and why slowing it down is the remedy.
Lee will show how simple Zen inquiry meditation is a key practice to shift the agitated mind into a peaceful present moment.
You’ll also be guided through Mindfulness in Motion Qigong flows as a way to enhance Zen meditation.
This week, you’ll discover how to:
- Slow the mind down — easing inner turbulence and agitation — and drop into the moment
- Use the slowing down concept to open yourself to creativity and solutions
- Harness a simple Zen inquiry meditation to ease an agitated mind
- Use the Mindfulness in Motion Qigong technique to enhance Zen meditation
Module 3: Awaken the Healing Power Within Your Cells & Promote Longevity Through Slow Breathing (January 21)
In Qigong and Tai Chi practice, slow breathing is integrated into slow movement for energy cultivation.
This week, you’ll discover how slow breathing is integrated into slow movement to relax the body and ignite the inner healing power within your cells.
We all have innate capacity to rebalance and find equilibrium in life — and tapping into your inner power breath is the key to unlocking our potential.
Lee will explore why slow breathing is fundamental to health and longevity, and guide you through various breathing exercises and Qigong movements for optimal health and energy.
This week, you’ll discover:
- Why slowing down the breath creates optimal health
- How to integrate the breath into Qigong movements
- The perfect way to breathe to ignite calm and relaxation — and the healing power within your cells
- How to breathe for inner peace and contentment
Module 4: Move Slowly to Receive More Life-Force Energy & Activate Effortless Power (January 28)
Why are practices like Tai Chi and Qigong done slowly? The ancient masters knew a secret…
By moving the body slowly, you absorb and take in more life-force energy from nature — and the universe.
Qigong was known as the “art of effortless power” — and this effortless ease came from relaxed slowness. The masters of antiquity knew that by moving slowly, practitioners would relax the mind and body, drop into the present moment without effort, and cultivate healing life-force energy.
By moving slowly and intentionally, you can also develop the skills to work with all of life’s various energies in healthy ways.
This week, you’ll:
- Cultivate effortless power by moving slow and aligning your intention with Qigong movements
- Discover why moving slow increases your energy
- Learn movements that will help you take in and build life-force energy — and expand your inner power
- Be guided in a movement meditation on the art of effortless power
Module 5: Slow Down Eating for Healthy Metabolism & Digestion and to Fully Experience the Joy of Food (February 4)
“It’s not just what you eat, but how you eat,” that boosts your metabolism, your energy, and allows your body to more easily shed any excess weight, says Lee.
When you eat quickly, your gut requires more energy to digest food. Chewing your food slowly and mindfully can improve metabolism and energy levels — so you are less inclined to overeat.
Lee will guide you through a meditative eating practice to strengthen metabolism and help you more easily recognize when you’re full.
He’ll also lead a Qigong movement practice for healthy digestion and offer tips on what to do before and after eating to improve digestion and metabolism.
This week, you’ll:
- Explore slow eating as a meditation that can strengthen metabolism and digestion
- Discover how to eat — not just what to eat — to maximize digestion and enjoyment
- Learn how digestion starts in the mouth — and how slow chewing optimizes this process
- Explore the Qigong concept of food as energy — Qigong techniques to increase metabolism and digestion
Module 6: Tune in to Your Relationships to Enhance Connection, Meaning, Happiness & Pleasure (February 11)
This week, explore how slowing down influences your relationships.
Lee will share key concepts to navigate arguments, discussions that feel heavy, and agitating conversations.
People feel truly heard when you slow down in communication with them. Slowing down removes urgency and immediacy out of the dialogue, which allows for more mindful interactions without escalating emotional energy.
You’ll explore how difficult interactions can be transformed into something deeply connecting…
Lee will also share how slowing down romantic interactions help heighten energy, connection, and pleasure as you learn how to savor and increase, loving, blissful, and even orgasmic energy by slowing down.
You’ll be guided through Qigong movements for cultivating “Jing” Qi, which is the “essence” or “sensual” energy of the body that allows us to build a sense of stability, balance hormones, and ease uncomfortable menopausal symptoms. This inner groundedness allows you to approach relationships from a place of wholeness and connect more authentically with yourself and others.
This week, you’ll:
- Learn effective methods of communication to enhance the quality and connection of your relationships
- Take the urgency out of conversation to help others feel seen and heard — and create a win-win
- Explore how to exchange energy with a partner to heighten connection, understanding, and joy
- Learn Qigong movements for cultivating “Jing” Qi to balance hormones, alleviate uncomfortable menopausal symptoms, and connect more authentically
Module 7: Begin to Integrate Slowing Down Into Your Daily Regimen to Cultivate Qi Living & Bring Your Best Self Into Your Life (February 18)
Lee will guide you through a longer Qigong routine to integrate enlivening Qigong exercises with moving meditation.
You’ll explore how you can bring the concept of slowing down into your daily life — whether your home life, work, passion projects, relationships, or lifestyle.
You’ll then end class with a Zen meditation.
This week, you’ll:
- Learn how to bring slowing down principles into the many facets of everyday living
- Explore how the concept of “bliss over busy” can be integrated into your daily life — and support you in your greater goals
- Explore how slow mind and body techniques can help you become more productive
- Be guided through a longer Qigong practice and movement meditation integrating what you’ve learned about cultivating yin energy and releasing stress and urgency in your everyday interactions, and finally ending with a seated Zen meditation
